When I was in Nepal, I worked in an ER in Kathmandu and if someone needed an
emergent test, medication, or procedure, their family had to run over to the cashier and pay for it first. If they couldn’t pay, we literally could do nothing for them. It was horrific. But the unfortunate reality of healthcare in many countries.
