Actually it is a supply and demand issue. There are too many fat people in the
United States that need insulin because they are Type 2 diabetic, which drives up demand and hence the price.
What people don't want to believe is that the same thing would happen if the US adopted a single payer or government based system. Sure the care may be cheaper, but the issue won't be that this lady can't afford it, the issue will be that the care is not available.
