Free markets require clear pricing, unfettered consumer choice, no monopolies/price fixing. We have the opposite of that
in our USA healthcare system: no upfront pricing, consumer choice fettered by insurance company requirements of choosing "participating" doctors and locations, secret pricing contracts between all healthcare institutions from hospitals to pharmacies to doctors (and non-compete/"certificate of need" type of things that limit new competition from entering the market area), etc.
We have the worst of a government system and the worst of a free market system.
