For the players, the game's a job (to keep a schollie). For fans, it's personal.
They are doing their best to win not so much because they love their schools (like we fans love our schools), but moreso because they like to win and want to keep their scholarships.

In that sense, they are doing their jobs, so it isn't as personal as we're prone to think.

For us fans, the support we give to our teams isn't a job. It's personal.
