Some of the best accounting professors at BYU had limited experience.
I agree that in certain classes, experience can be very helpful (audit and tax are definitely classes where it can help), but it isn't a necessary requirement to be a good professor. Prawitt was (and is) a great professor, and he didn't work in public accounting. Kay Stice was my favorite professor, and his experience was limited (maybe 1-2 years if I remember correctly).
