Teams hardly ever make money on the bowls

Ownership in a bowl would give you a cut of the TV money and sponsorship (where the bowl payouts come from anyway) and you would not have to pay the bowl for unsold tickets which can be a major expense for schools. It is not ideal but I would rather have ownership and break even in a bowl than pay to go to the Poinsettia.
