Who determines what is fair? Outside armchair quarterbacks, or the people in the
actual situation? Last I heard, there is not a single college in the nation with a football team, that has a hard time finding students willing to play for it. This is true whether the players get scholarships or not. Almost anybody on this board would have played for free in college.

Perhaps the real entity that is getting cheated here is the universities themselves, who have to pay their athletes (through scholarships) when the overwhelming majority of them would play for free.
