He was a pretty smart kid in high school and always got good grades. We would find each other on campus and talk 2-3x a semester while we were at BYU. He told me about how hard getting good grades in college was for him long before he didn't qualify academically that last semester, which always really surprised me because that wasn't the kid I knew before. Now it makes a lot more sense. Makes me wish I would have known so that I could have helped in any way possible.
