Come to think of it, maybe there are more parallels there than I first thought. For example, many of us feel that Jimmer has never really been given the chance to play regular, decent minutes. For years, I thought that Detmer really was never given much of a chance. Yes, he started a bunch of games one year for the Eagles, and took them to the playoffs. However, just a few games into the next season, Detmer at QB ended for the Eagles. That was it as far as significant playing time for Detmer. However, Detmer did stick for 14 years in the NFL, which is quite incredible. Perhaps Jimmer can carve himself out a long career in the NBA, even if he never gets the kind of playing time he wants. Plenty of room on the roster for someone that shoots 50% from three, even if there are significant flaws in other aspects of the game (I think Jimmer is removing those flaws, for the most part).
