I've got a possible relocation with my current company to go from the Silicon Valley area to their Dallas area offices (Richardson) or possibly move anywhere I want. We crossed Utah off our list for various reasons despite having lots family there, but seem to have narrowed down our choices to AZ or Dallas. Where would you go/why?

I grew up in AZ and would have no problem living there again as I find it to be very family friendly with affordable housing and decent schools, but I am intrigued by living in TX (no state income taxes, affordable housing, good schools, everybody I know that lives there seems to like it). I'm less familiar with the good areas for young families in AZ since it has changed quite a bit from when I grew up there, but I'd assume Gilbert/Chandler are both fine - especially areas around the new Gilbert Temple. I've heard good things about Frisco, TX as well.

I'm curious to hear of anyone's opinion on the areas, especially if you have lived in both places. We plan on taking a trip out to Dallas before we make any decision, but thought I would turn to the wisdom of CougarBoard for advice.
