Friel is a big body TE that can do some damage after catching the ball.
I loved the Boise State game where he caught a couple of passes and rumbled through a few guys. Also, the Washington St game 2 years ago gave us a glimmer of hope of having a dominant TE again, and then he disappeared.
My guess is that because he drops too many balls and isn't a dominant blocker he won't get drafted.He has the size/athleticism to turn into a decent TE if given the chance. He will not get drafted (I don't even think there is an outside chance) but could possibly earn a FA spot and work his way onto a team.
