He may have been an underachiever in his career at BYU, but then again the tight ends were basically phased out of the offensive scheme. Players tend to lose interest when their role is diminished.

NFL teams draft based on potential. Friel has the measurable to make it in the NFL. If a team likes him, he may get a look. What happens with that look is completely up to him. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him make a roster and/or practice squad.
