Good news for BYU Women's Soccer and this coming season.

Maddie Lyons, Bizzy Phillips, Stephanie Ringwood, Shaylin Orr, Alyssa Jefferson, and Rachel Bingham of Sparta United won their 7th Utah State Cup in the U-18's. No girl soccer team has ever won 7 Utah State Cup titles. These girls have been playing together for years, some of them have been teammates since they were 5 years old. Winning 7 State Cups cannot be overstated. The playoffs in State Cup (Quarters, Semi's and Finals) are one-off games, and every team in Utah treats its match against Sparta as its Super Bowl doing everything possible to knockoff the legendary Sparta team. These girls are so talented and determined that they have won each of these Super Bowls for years. This year Sparta beat Forza 5-3 in the Championship Match, and last year Sparta beat Forza 8-2 in the Championship Match.

Nadia Gomes single handedly led her Murray Max team to the Finals of Utah State Cup in the U-17 age category scoring goal after goal. Even though she is only 17, she will be attending BYU this fall.

Look for all of these recruits make an immediate impact on the upcoming team and keep BYU Women's soccer as a highly ranked team and returning for the third straight year to the NCAA tournament.
