I Think There's a Lot of Truth to This
Outside observers see a lot of transfers and assume "helicopter parent." It's an easy leap of logic to make. A player moves around a lot (which isn't typical)--there must be a reason.

I don't know if that title does or doesn't apply to Mr. Carlino.

My point is that neither Matt or his dad have been vocal critics of BYU at any point--not to where it's reached the media (to the media's chagrin). I don't know where the first-hand statements or quotes are that would justify the labeling Carlino Sr. has received in this thread.

What's know is that Matt has transferred again. While he was at BYU, he produced very, very well compared to the typical BYU point guard. That didn't make him perfect or always equate to the teams he was on performing at their optimum level. There was a head to head battle between two good players with vastly different skill sets for point guard, Carlino doesn't appear to have like the way "basketball" was playing out at BYU, and he left. He did so without publicly trashing the school in the least, and neither has his Dad to my knowledge.

For that, I think it's fair to hope the fan base keeps the negative speculation to a minimum as far as what we say about the Carlinos on the internet, radio, etc..
