Water leaked from the washer on the second floor --do I make an insurance claim?
So, somehow the hose that comes off the back of the washer got dislodged and slightly pushed away from the drain pipe, and all the water from a laundry load spilled directly onto the floor of the upstairs laundry room (which we converted from a small bedroom into a laundry room). It has wood floors.

When my wife came home, she saw water dripping into the kitchen sink on the main level. the laundry room is directly above the kitchen. She ran upstairs and was able to get a bunch of the water off the floor with towels. A couple of the seams in the kitchen ceiling drywall were very wet yesterday, but are mostly dry today, with some very slight staining.

What should I do? I am afraid that the damage to the wood floors upstairs may not become visible for awhile.

Is it worth making a claim? Is there a way to have insurance come out and then decide if it's worth making a claim, or is it not worth doing?
