Can lights are sufficient for draining if you unscrew the can part and let air
flow into it.

With the wood floors, make sure the flooring isn't curling upward along the joints and seams. They call that cupping since it makes a slight bowl shape. It's a permananet warping of the floor so it will never flatten out again.

With buckling, the floor absorbs a lot of water, expands, and then buckles at the joints because there is nowhere else for it to expand as it absorbs water.
