UCF won't be crap, and their record might not be so telling with some losses to good teams. Their RB that will take over is good, and I know Bortles was Bortles, but it's football, every position helps the other look good, and UCF returns almost all of those WRs that helped Bortles look amazing. A half decent QB could look very good with those guys. I'm not saying we should be terrified, but they're no joke.
Also, doesn't Texas return a ton of talent? About the only position that may not be great on offense is QB. They lost some starters, but return a lot of experience and talent. And they return 7 on defense plus more experience. I still think we have a good chance, but it's not like their team got wiped out last year with guys leaving.
But Houston could definitely be tough. I think they return a lot plus O'Korn. I think they only lost 2 on offense. Their defense isn't incredible but they've got a good front 7. Don't expect the game to be anything like last year though. Just about everything that could go wrong on defense for us, did. It was a freak game. That's not happening twice in a row.
The thing that made that game so hard was our little screwups. Our best players missing tackles, letting a guy return a kick for a TD, our walk-on starters showing their weakness. I hate to say Houston had some luck, but they did. But they're also good and O'Korn was only a freshman who looked like a man.
