BYU is a special case. It has baggage. You can't put it up for comparison against other schools. if you are willing to accept BYU baggage, then it is by far the best expansion choice. If not, then BYU shouldn't even be in the discussion.

The B12 was in trouble. They made the best deal they could given the time and pressures involved. TCU was what they could get out of a pool of almost no choices.

Even if forced to expand for some weird reason, the P12 isn't going to make the same desperate move with the same rationale. And you already know from their invite of Texas et al that the P12 doesn't let geography and fit control their decision making.
