They use homework as an excuse, but anyone with a half of a brain
or a small portion of discipline can take off Saturdays to go to a football game for a few hours. Same for basketball season.
The problem is many students would rather spend their free time playing video games (how long can they go without doing something on their smartphones), watching TV or some other alternative entertainment. They play video games or text or whatever they do on their phones instead of what we did. Watch football and then go outside and play it. Then go back in a watch some more sports, then find any excuse to get some guys together to play whatever sport is on their mind.
It will be interesting to watch and see if sports TV ratings fall with this generation. The Sandlot days are over.
