Nice ignorance post. Unless you're honestly asking, which I doubt. It spells out "I don't pay attention" or else "I'm never optimistic."
What exactly did Anae have to work with when he came back? The coaches knew it wasn't going to be great. They barely had enough bodies in the spring, and when fall camp came around, they were still worried. Our best guy was coming off double hip surgery and was only a soph. Our other most experienced guy wasn't that great. Fusi needed time to get in better shape and work into things. We had a bunch of freshmen.
BTW, two new guys could turn out to be some of our best guys. etc.
The coaches were honest about it last year when they were worried. What makes you think they're lying this year when they speak with optimism about the OL? The typical "what have they done to show me anything different" comment is getting old on CB. And I'm no homer. I was very critical of the OL last year.
PS, 2J is the OL coach, not Anae. Anae helps, but both of them knew they didn't have much to work with last year with the combination of injuries and inexperience.
