I am embarrassed, sometimes, that these things can be so wrong for athletic frames. Really, I think that these metrics are developed to quickly and easily address problems more accurately measured by body fat% and direct measurements/ratios of waist:hip, etc . . . and thus fail b/c they only incorporate easily obtained data (height and weight).
