There is a large river channel that changes direction. Directly across from the 1000 Springs campground, there is a outflow from the reservoir and many waterfalls that dump in to a large channel. When that water comes down, it flows away both "upstream" and "downstream". So, you head upstream from the campground, turn right up the first big channel, where you will continue to paddle upstream. After passing waterfalls, you reach the major outflow that flows away from you and changes the direction of the channel. The flow will carry you the rest of the way, past another big waterfall, back in to the Snake River and the river with be flowing back to where you started from. The water in the channel is crystal-clear and the many falls are beautiful.
