yewts from now on is 6 games. That is probably true. The problem for the yewts is:

losing sucks, and it doesn't matter over time who you lose to. Braggin about having USC, Oregon and UCLA come to town every other year is awesome until you get your butts handed to you time after time after time. If you keep losing half+ of your games then all the bandwagon fans with P12 stickers that don't even know the name of the head coach, or any of the players, disappear pretty quick.

Joining the P12 gave them a big boost. Fans thought they'd be competing for the P12 title and going to BCS games on fairly regular basis. The hype was through the roof, and then it falls and falls hard.

Being a mid-major who blew into the BCS a couple of times was far more helpful to them than being a bottom-dwellar in the P12 that nobody talks about anymore. Of course they are getting a lot more money now...
