planning on ever having kids, as appears to be the case:

Millennials are stacked with student debt and they've come of age in a horrendous job market. And on top of that, as most on here know, everything with kids, especially health insurance, gets more expensive. And millennials are much more likely to come from broken/divorced homes than any previous generation, meaning that many of them experienced family dysfunction growing up, and don't want any part of it. If a person has no religious motivation to have children, it's hard to blame him for not planning on having kids, and especially hard to blame him for not wanting to have more than the two kids that are required to replace the population.
Is there a better way to destroy an economy than the policies we've adopted over the past half-century? Basically, we've decided to make it as difficult as possible for young people to get educated, buy a house, save for retirement, and pay for healthcare. In other words, we've done basically everything we can to discourage family formation.
It sure will be fun to see who exactly is supposed to pay for all the decrepit retirees hanging around 20-30 years from now.
