BOT and BYU have counted the "cost" of acceptance into the P5. That was done a while back and when I say that I mean they knew within a frame work of what and how.

2018 BYU existing ESPN contract is over, finished. 2019 a new contract will be signed, how much uncertain, but the "framework" for that is in sight and has been for a while. There is "room" for BYU and the wiggling needed is fine, BOT approved.
