...the day after our second daughter was born, I was home with the 2 1/2 year old and my wife called from the hospital, and before she could tell me what was wrong, she broke down sobbing. I thought our baby had died. Eventually she calmed down enough to tell me that she was indeed a little sick and did spend some time in the NICU, but in hindsight it was pretty minor, and they were being very cautious. I remember that same sinking feeling that my new baby daughter had died.
