No, I never recline in coach. And most trips are either first/business
class, or purchased far enough in advance to get an exit row or front row.
The rows in coach are far too close together, and the airlines should find ways to provide more space. I'm 6'2", but I know many people much shorter than me who would agree. I can still vaguely remember when this wasn't even an issue, but that was back when the airlines took their customers' comfort seriously.
