I usually fly first/business class. When that option is not available, I try for an exit row. If it's a last minute flight & those options aren't available, & the person in front of me tries to recline, I try to prevent them because otherwise it's excruciatingly painful. I blame the airlines because they don't provide as much space between rows as they should, although they used to. I've flown overseas many times, but never in coach. I've never reclined my own seat in coach.
