Being able to announce a 6 game deal with ND on the day they announced

independence was a big deal. It gave immediate credibility to the idea that we could make independence work. Now it turns out that we didn't really have a 6 game commitment from them, but it also turns out that we didn't actually need one. But at the time it was important in setting perception and expectations.
