I don't deny that there is probably a trend. But practically every news
gathering organization tends to spin things one way or another. I don't think the above headline is a good example of bias.

Does the tribune tend to write about and address issues that may make the church look bad or bring up controversial issues. Yes. But they do this no more than the Dnews ignores legitimate stories or issues that may make the church look bad. Yet no one here seems to complain about that bias.

I have seen numerous stories at the Trib regarding BYU and the Church that were unfair, one sided, and obviously had an agenda. But I have also seen stories that were completely fair and relevant, but because it addressed a controversial issue or placed the church in a bad light, church member's were whining that it was an attack piece. Then I have read stories from the trib that were nothing but positive about the church.

I am sure that overall there is a more negative bias towards the church at the trib than positive. But I don't believe that it is nearly as extensive as many people make it out to be. And having bias makes them no different than any other news organization, they all have bias of some kind. I just find it interesting that so many on this board are fine with an organization that has bias that supports their beliefs, but are not ok with bias from other organizations that don't.

While there have been articles that I didn't agree with or like, overall I am grateful that the Trib is willing to write about issues within the church that often the Dnews doesn't want to address.
