The Skip is a NFC tag you can attach to clothes or other thin items, it attaches magnetically, that unlocks the phone.

Beyond that, the touchless control is handy, Assist has some nice features (Moto G has a couple of the Assist modules). I'll agree that the extras aren't worth the extra money, but it is worth it between the fater processors, NFC, better camera, LTE, extras, etc.

You might see if the X and/or G go on sale in the next week as their replacements are expected to be announced Thursday.
