The point of the "discussion" was that UConn was committed to taking away the deep ball and forcing Taysom to execute long drives up the field.

People can choose to get hung up on what exactly someone means when they hyperbolically say "drop 8 every play" (to me, it's obvious that UConn didn't actually drop 8 on every single play of the entire game), or they can acknowledge the fundamental point that even the OP's stats demonstrate.
