4 Things BYU Must Do to Beat Texas...
...these will be obvious, but nothing silly or snide, like "Score more points than Texas!":

1) Stuff the run. BYU defenses under Bronco are particularly good at shutting down run-heavy teams. Forcing Texas into throwing situations and taking the ball out the hands of those talented Texas RBs is the first key to winning.

2) Don't let Texas have anything over the top. Swoopes has shown some ability to arc long deep throws to a speedy receiver who gets behind the defense. If we can take away all the deep stuff and force Swoopes to try to be accurate and methodical throwing underneath stuff all the way down the field, I like our chances.

3) Make dramatic improvements in our kicking game and don't allow Texas to have any big special teams plays. No cheap touchdowns. Our kick-off execution was embarrassing against UConn, we need that fixed. (Oh, and we're going to get more punt blocks this year if our punter continues to be so slow in getting the ball off his foot.)

4) Our passing game needs to be sharp, mistake free, and we have to hurt Texas when they start jumping all the short stuff and dare us to go deep. Our receivers need to be able to beat man-press and we need to be able to make Texas pay with some deep shots to keep them honest.

*It would be great to get our running game going, I'm not convinced that we will be able to have a lot of success running against this Texas D, but it would be a big deal if we could get over 140 yards rushing sans-Taysom.
