OL's have a combined 14 starts + rookie QB = long day for Texas on offense...
...and a very simple approach. That bodes well for our defense. Their one experienced OL was their center (40 starts) who is out indefinitely with a broken bone. This situation is very similar to the one we faced vs Oklahoma. The Sooners had a similar situation when we played them in 2009 and had started a converted TE at Center due to inexperience and lack of depth along the OL. That Sooners team was loaded with talent (18 NFL draft picks in their 2-3 deep that year) and had 3 of the first 4 picks in the 2010 NFL draft including the reigning Heisman Trophy winner.

We weren't nearly as loaded on defense and were able to take advantage of the Sooner inexperience on their OL. If we get all of our starters back (that still sounds like it's an "if") I'll feel a lot better about our chances in the Texas game. We'll need the depth at corner and our present group of RB's won't cut it. Lasike and Hine aren't able to make guys miss and Algie Brown has the ability but looked to be out of gas in the 3rd/4th quarter despite the reduced number of plays the offense ran (only 72) when he dropped that swing pass and then fumbled on the next drive. We'll need Jamaal for the Texas game. Bronco said he'd be "surprised" if they're not all back for the Texas game but he didn't give an absolute "yes they will all be back". He sounded more hopeful like there's still some details to be worked out.
