I understand your point, but sometimes that seems like an appropriate response.
For example, the people that live in Utah but hate Utah and everything about it. Why live in a place that you hate? I get that it's not so easy, maybe your job here and you love it or your spouse loves it or whatever, and you can't just pick up and go to another state. The problem is that the people that are saying "If you don't like it, leave" to those people, are people that either like the state and resent the fact that you're bashing on their home, or are people that don't like to listen to people whine about something only they can change.

And I bet that if I moved up to Seattle and told people in my ward "Man, I just hate Washington. California or Utah or ANYWHERE is better than here!!" you're going to tell me that not one person is going to say "If you hate it so bad, why don't you leave?"?
