The Absolute fastest route PERIOD to the greatest College Football venue in the
World.....

1. Start out going north on N Terminal Dr toward 3800 W.

0.3 mi (Uneventful .3 miles, but you are driving on the road where Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) in Dumb and Dumber dropped off Mary Swanson and was watching her walk and said "good bye my love" as the air bag deploys. Also you can hear the game on 1160 AM or 102.7 FM. @gregwrubell is a little pitchy but overall a pretty good playbyplay)

2. Take N Terminal Dr toward Rental Car Return/Terminal Pick-up.

1.4 mi (On your left you will see Wingpoint Golf Course.... Not a bad track if you like Links style golf...of note, "This sprawling, 7,185-yard test (from the tips) has a distinctive, Scottish flavor and linksland character with rolling mounds, native grasses resembling Scottish straw, wildflowers and bountiful bunkering. Wingpointe has twice been voted one of the the Top 5 golf courses in Utah by Golf Magazine and was named one of the state's top two public-access courses by Golf Digest.")

3. Stay straight to go onto UT-154/Bangerter Hwy.

0.3 mi (This little stretch is Named after former Utah Governor Norm Bangerter - Norman Howard Bangerter was the 13th Governor of Utah from 1985 to 1993. He was the first Republican elected to the position since 1965.)

4. Take the ramp toward I-80 E/City Center/Provo/Ogden.

0.2 mi
5. Keep straight to take the ramp toward I-80 E/City Center/Provo/Ogden.

0.08 mi
6. Keep straight to take the ramp toward I-80 E/City Center/Provo/Ogden.

0.5 mi
7. Merge onto I-80 E via the ramp on the left toward City Center/Provo.

0.9 mi (It is VERY, VERY important you do not get dazed and bewildered gazing at downtown Salt Lake City and the Amazing Wasatch Mountain range home to the greatest snow on earth and miss the right turn south via I-215. If you Stay on I-80 East it will only take about 75 minutes and you will be in the middle of nowhere till about Omaha Nebraska. In the first 30 of that 75 minutes you would drive up Parleys Canyon to Park City Utah, home to the Sundance Film festival and Utah's premier ski resort town. As you look at the Mountain Range you may encounter a small view of a BLOCK U (pronounced YEW) on the side of the Mountain. At this point you need to feel like you are looking at Hokie-ville in blacksburg.... I wouldnt recommend rolling down the window as you might, just maybe, get a small whiff of Pac 12 county..... I mean country... Kinda smells like that cute little puppy after its first bath... not sure if you want to wash it again or just hope is smells better when it dries. Anywhoooo, downtown SLC has some great tourist stops, under-appreciated local brewerys (if you want an adult beverage) and an amazing citycenter called city creek. Just so happens you can get your picture taken in between 2 statues of the greatest point guard and greatest power forward to ever play in the NBA close to there)
8. Merge onto I-215 S via EXIT 117 toward Provo.

10.9 mi (This little stretch is known as the west Sieeeeeed of the valley. I grew up there. You will pass a venue called the Maverick Center, formally the E center which is home to Utah's AAA (echl) Hockey Club The Utah Grizzleys. You'll pass a Costco on your right where an elementary once stood.......Granger elementary.... I gave poor Mrs Peterson a rough time..... but I digress....moving on)
9. Merge onto I-15 S via EXIT 12 toward Las Vegas.

29.3 mi (With the BLOCK YEW now in your rear view mirror. where it should be, its safe to roll your window down cause pac12 county is actually smaller than many would like to think it is... Look to your left, to the right ..... as you pass cars or they pass you... your safe to wave cause 2-1 cheer for BYU. Soon on your left you will see a very nice Soccer venue call Rio Tinto Stadium, home of Real Salt Lake (pronounced ray-al) currently 3rd in the west and 4th overall in Major League Soccer. RSL gave our state it's only professional championship in 2009 and shoulda won 2013... had it in the bag.. just had to make 1 Penalty Kick. Unbelievable... To your right you can see the Oaker Mountain range and the copper Mine which is one of the largest open copper mines in the world. Straight ahead you will see South Mountain and shortly drive around what natives call "the point of the Mountain" into Utah County. Its quite breathtaking as you come around the point... Mount timpanogos on your left and on your right Utah Lake, a fresh water lake with great recreation value and killer for small mouth bass and cat fishing. The Jordan River connects Utah lake with the Great Salt Lake back up by the airport. Now the excitement builds... You can look down range of the Wasatch and see the general area you are headed marked by a GIGANTIC Y on the side of the mountain, properly named Y-mountain. I could almost say at this point take you hands off the wheel and simply say "take me" and your car may just drive itself. If you wanted to be specific you could say "take me to where there is a National Championship Trophy I could see", or "Is there a place I can see a Heisman Trophy, a Maxwell Award, 4 Davey O'Briens, 7 Sammy Baughs, 2 Outland Trophies, a Doak Walker and Jim Brown trophy all in one spot?"...... It's probably easier to just say "take me to the House Lavell built". Scratch that, to be safe, keep your hands on the wheel and keep following the Nav.)
10. Take the UT-265/University Parkway exit, EXIT 269.

0.6 mi (make sure you get ALL THE WAY OVER to the right to make this exit. it can be tricky)
12. Keep left to take the ramp toward UTAH VALLEY ST COLLEGE/BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIV.

0.2 mi (at this exit if you are not careful you may think you have arrived..... not just yet. You are passing Utah Valley University (UVU) home of the Wolverines, that does compete in division 1 sports with the only D-1 soccer program in the state if I am not mistaken. The basketball program now plays in the (greatly changed and depleted) WAC conference for an autobid to the 66 team tournament and has 10x's better access to the road to winning a basketball national championship than BYU does to win ANOTHER college football championship. Seems kinda silly when you think about the hardware you are going to be in the vicinity of in about 10 minutes. Its easy to tell you are not quite to BYU campus by seeing students with facial hair and girls wearing shorts that dont go to the knee... Stay focused!!!, you are almost there.)
13. Go straight toward UTAH VALLEY ST COLLEGE/BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIV.

0.02 mi
14. Turn slight left onto UT-265/W 1200 S.

0.2 mi(this is my secret way I am about to expose to lend a hand of fellowship due to your time constraints... off the freeway get all the way to the right and turn right at the Mcdonalds/Wal-Mart. which is sandhill road)
15. Turn right onto Sandhill Rd.

Pass through 1 roundabout.

1.5 mi
16. Sandhill Rd becomes W 1700 N.

0.3 mi (it will curve to the left and go east here)
17. Turn right onto N 2100 W.

0.2 mi
18. 2100W turns left into 1460 N.

0.9 mi
19. W 1460 N becomes Grandview Ln.

0.2 mi
20. Turn right onto Columbia Ln.

0.4 mi
21. Columbia Ln becomes W Bulldog Blvd.

0.6 mi (Bulldog Blvd you ask... not "Steve Young Drive" or "jim mcmahon finally got his degree last week and we are welcoming him into BYU's hall of fame in a few weeks which is LONG overdue over some dumb technicality that Jim humbled himself to do (tons of respect for Jimmy Mac for doing it) drive".......Nope... Bulldog Blvd after the Provo High Bulldogs whos notable alumni include
Paul D. Boyer, chemist and 1997 Nobel Laureate
Kirk Chambers, professional football player for the Atlanta Falcons
Annie D. Danielewski aka Poe, singer/songwriter
Mark Z. Danielewski, author
Brandon Davies, (THE brandon that made the news of his suspension right before the tourney with the Jimmer that cost us a final 4)basketball player
Tracy Hickman, Science-fiction & Fantasy Novelist (1975)
Matthew S. Holland President, Utah Valley University
Vance Law, Professional Baseball Player, BYU head baseball coach (2000-2012)
Gifford Nielsen, Quarterback, Houston Oilers
Dallin H. Oaks a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Brett Vroman, basketball player
Mekeli Wesley, professional basketball player
Tai Wesley, professional basketball player
Kyle Whittingham, Head Football Coach of the University of Utah YEWTS (i kinda just threw up a little in my mouth posting this... Where did they go so wrong? Come on Provo High.....look at this list.... Oh kyle... anyway, after this year we can put a "former Head Football coach" there most likely.)

22. Turn left onto N Canyon Rd. .....on the left there are2 or 3 pay lots (about $10-$15) 2 minute walk to the SouthWest entry to the Greatest College football stadium in the world. As you step outta your car you will most likely hear the Pride of the Wasatch playing there halftime routing. Theyre not half bad..... You may here something familiar like "Happy" by Pharell or "when the Saints go marching in" or even Deep Purple's "Smoke on the water".. they are quite diverse, but not our greatest achievement either. If you made good time you may just hear the cougar fight song or (Rise and Shout)... this is played after every score and a song I hope you hear over, and over, and over and over again, no disrespect to you or the wahoos.... they will be a formidable challenge. I truly hope you are 9-2 on November 28th when you head to blacksburg and a win means playing for an ACC title. Ill be waring Cavalier Orange if that day comes and will learn your fight song.

0.4 mi
23. the Greatest College football stadium in the world is on the right.

Your destination is just past E University Pkwy
If you reach Stadium Ave you've gone about 0.1 miles too far and will see Stadium Terrace apartments which I called home as a student. Absolute dive back then, but I hear they have made improvements.

Welcome to Provo Hooville. I'm in the South endzone portal WW. Come say hi and I'll buy you a cougar tail.... oh crap, more explanation...... it's actually a really long doughnut with way too much Maple frosting, but it's gameday! We are a dry campus which means there are no caffeinated beverages to be found so stick with sprite or rootbeer.... Actually, try the Diet Coke....I am always amazed at how many people have never had caffeine free diet coke... or even knew there was such a tasty beverage even made... our place is flowing with it!
