When I was a kid, the games all started at noon or one, there was very little advertising, no blaring music (other than the band) and very limited calm PA stuff. Pretty much, "5 yard completion by McMahon." and then silence. No screaming cougar sounds, no advertisements over PA (that I remember) no "That's another cougar first down" comments. The focus was the game.
