As a current Mac user, I just can't see the benefit to an OS (like Windows 8)
which mixes touch screen and keyboard/mouse.

I'm not comparing Mac vs Windows - just touch vs non-touch. (Windows 7 is non-touch and is comparable to MacOS here) I just don't get mixing touch OS's and non-touch together. Seems easier for me to use my mouse (while barely moving my hand) to touch everything on the screen rather then reach my arm up and touch the screen directly.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I think Microsoft's long-term strategy is flawed so long as they mix touch and non-touch functions together in laptops and desktop systems. To me, tablets are different than laptops/desktops and require a different OS, whether that touch-OS be Android, iOS, or Windows.
