And I think we could become a juggernaut going forward. We would become a force if we landed the lions share of blue chip LDS recruits every year (and I have no question we would as members of the PAC). I think we would be upper middle of the PAC 12 south year in and year out. I think we would become a Stanford like program...really strong in the trenches on both sides of the ball, great linebackers, and great QB play.
Utah is what it is. It's gained less from membership in the PAC than I anticipate BYU would. Utah fought with the lower tier of the PAC-12 for recruits when it was in the MWC. They largely fight against the same schools for the same level of recruits now. They've gotten a few guys they might not have gotten without being in the PAC, but, overall I think Utah is a perennial bottom two in the PAC-12 South type program.
