Two problems
1. Your mixing personal and work on the same device. Why not use one of the many other devices you have lying around than your military laptop? Get into the habit of mixing personal and work on the same device is just a bad practice in my opinion, and pretty unecessary given the wealth of devices around. Get a $100 tablet and a $10 keyboard and you are good to go. Also, if you've ever used a military laptop, you understand how slow they are relative to other options due to all the monitoring and security stuff they install.

2. Using a military laptop out in the open like he was could make him a target. The green "unclassified" bar at the top is a pretty big giveaway to anyone who knows what to look for. He opened himself up to being a target. It didn't look like he was exposing anything sensitive (except how to run ward counsels) but by basically identifying himself as working for the military he was imprudent.

However, those are all minor infractions. Not being a Cougar fan, or not showing it, are far worse.

Go Cougs!!!!!
