The hard data was the hard data.
It's the stats that exist. That's the only hard data. Everything else is supposition. Pretty much your entire post is supposition. Do we actually know Texas is poor in punt coverage...or is there not enough data? You can't play both sides of the aisle here.

Read my original post. I said the stats "are probably one of the reasons." I'm pretty sure they are. There may be 1,000 more...but I'm pretty sure they provide some evidence as to why the punt returns have gone as they have. It's the only data any of us on a message board have to go off. You can't tell me I "can't use the mean." Why can't I? It's what we have...and I never claimed it was the only reason...just one of. Why do I "have to believe" Blackmon would have done at least as well. The only data I have to work with is the three punt returns I've seen...they resulted in a 4.0 yard average...statistically skewed by the "outlying" 16 yarder.

I haven't seen fielding percentage in practice. I haven't seen the repetitions nor film of practice. I've got what I saw in the first three games. Nothing I have seen leads me to the conclusion you came to. So far in actual results, Juergens has done better...even factoring in your fair catches which no one does.

I hold to my belief that the numbers are probably one of the reasons...I can do that...and I will. And if the tables turn and Blackmon ends up getting those reps, I will presume that the coaching staff has analyzed a great deal more data than I have available and decided he's now the best option.
