The ticket issue is planned by BYU
I have had season tickets since the stadium was built in part from my contributions. The deal was help build the stadium and you will get a lifetime of tickets at a discounted rate. Back then my season tickets were $14 each. When the ticket price was the same for each game - they were last $50 each. My special discount tickets started out at $168 for my wife and I together for the year. At $50 each they were $600 for the season. The tickets were part of my brothers and my block of 10 tickets - which is now over $6,000 for the season. There are some 2nd generation family members willing to buy the tickets - but they are falling off.

The wife is not as young and now unwilling to attend most of the home games - especially if the weather is not perfect. So I am one of the season ticket holders that no longer purchases seats but rather watches the games on TV. It is my theory that as long as the stadium is full the ticket prices will go up for the next season until there are no sell outs. Then the prices will remain somewhat even until the stadium sells out - at which time the ticket prices will increase until there are empty seats.
