I'll be the first to admit that the dude has some physical gifts. I'm very glad we have him at BYU. I truly hope he becomes a great.
However, when I hear "The playbook is too complicated" or "Oregon's playbook was really simple" what I really hear is "I didn't bother studying". Now obviously I don't know him. Everybody learns differently. I really hope the light went on when his own touchdown was called back because of his own mental mistake. Trust is to be earned, not given. In my professional career, I was only entrusted with people lives and very expensive equipment only once I went through rigorous training and proved in practice that I was competent. That could be said for many careers. Sports are the exact same.
Devon, I really hope you excel here at BYU. I think you will. Anae was talking about you coming all summer because he finally had some speed in his offense. Just learn the plays well so you can show us what you can do. Furthermore, you're not going to become what we as BYU fans hoped you would until you do.
