You cannot afford all those penalties. BYU was 14 point favorite who got by and was trailing at the half, largely because penalties killed their drives and kept UVA moving the ball. If this were a 1-off, that would be annoying. Seeing as how 3/4 games this year have had excessive penalties hurting BYU, that's a troubling sign.

The only good news is that the schedule gets softer from here on out, so the penalties will be less likely to cause losses.
