Only if you believe participation in a game takes $18-20M out of the P5 pocket
Which it does not...

Participation in a NY6 bowl game only provides $4M to that participant and/or their conference. A CFP semi-final game participant only gets $6M.

When you consider P5 conferences will start with a $50M pay check before any participants are selected (this is TV, Ticket & Merchandise money guaranteed to each P5 conference) and the max any of them would likely end up getting is maybe only in the $4-20M (and that would really be maxing out 2 semi-finalists and 2 NY6 participants)...and that BYU's inclusion may only take $4 of that away this is not likely a scenario where it will mater much in the pocket book to include/exclude BYU.

Also the P5 themselves do not select - members of the selection committee will decide and I see several people on the committee would hold their integrity of how they are represented on a committee they are not being "paid" to be a part of vs allowing a measly $4-6M to be sent in a different direction....
