I have definately heard that if the leg is extended for a kick

and a defender hits the leg then it is 15 yards or if a defender hits the plant leg while the kicking leg is still extended. Even small hits can injure a punter in that situation. I think they got the call wrong. Just like the old five yard facemask penalty, the 5 yard running into the kicker rule needs to go. To Subjective.
