I think they can contend in the PAC-12 South with him. They should beat WSU at home.
They struggle far more on the road than at home, so I think their big tests will be @ UCLA, @ ASU, and @ Stanford. With Wilson I like their chances against USC and AZ @ home, and I think they have a shot to beat Oregon, who looked very beatable in Pullman against WSU. UO won only because Mariota was basically perfect. Utah's d is much better than Wazzu's and very physical. It could be a battle with UO's patchwork O-line.
Stanford's game plays to their strengths (power football). UCLA looked beatable with Hundley but that Neuheisel kid can really sling it. Opens up everything else. They will lose to Arizona State on the road. Colorado is horrible.
Clear wins: CU
Likely wins: AZ, OSU, WSU
Toss-ups: USC
Possible wins, but uphill: UO, Stanford, UCLA
Probable losses: AZ State
I am basing this largely on the fact that they can really beat teams at home that they really shouldn't beat (e.g., Stanford last year) but they tend to lose on the road to teams they shouldn't lose to, e.g., AZ last year.
