Unlike Whitt who moves them all to other positions & doesn't backfill the depth
....chart and hopes that a fragile Jordan Wynn and a DII cast-off is sufficient at QB for the Yewts first 2 seasons in the Pac12. Meanwhile, when Jake Heaps was the starter and Riley the backup, Bronco could've moved Riley to safety (a position he was better suited for) --- ......okay, bad example, most of wish Bronco had done this but behind Jake we had capable backups to step in and win games. James Lark threw a record 6 TD passes in his debut filling in for an injured Riley (and Lark was the 3rd stringer that season).

In Utah's first season in the Pac12 they had a great gift by the conference schedulers and were spared having to play both Oregon and Stanford that year and had all the crappy teams on their schedule (Cal, WSU, Colorado, etc). The South Div was weak that year and Whitt pulled the epic bonehead move of all time in thinking a wimpy, oft-injured Jordan Wynn and a DII cast-off would be enough to get them through their historic first season in conference. The South Div was their's for the taking and they fumbled the job royally because Whitt didn't think having quality depth at QB was as important as having it at LB, safety or WR. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Win the division, go to the CCG and who knows from there (pull an upset over Oregon and go to the Rose Bowl?) or how that initial success would've impacted recruiting and changed the fortunes of the program.
