BYU's competitive advantage is that it is a different unique experience. Otherwise, even though we have good academics (and a well-rounded package), we would still be outclassed or at least break even with the likes of schools like Stanford, Cal, USC, UCLA, and perhaps others. This is precisely Utah's dilemma right now. In the PAC12 alone they are towards the bottom of the conference at almost any recruiting criteria you look at. It reflects why their recruiting is at the bottom of the conference. What can they offer that the others can't (and better)?
