How is it that there is always a multidude of excuses to protect BYU coaches?
Let me help you. BYU has problems every year because they suffer from bad leadership. I already know you're going to ask "how does leadership cause/prevent injuries like this year?" and you have a point. There is a degree of bad luck that occurs each year. It's up to the coaches to prepare the team and adjust once those things have happened.

The coaches didn't protect Hill this year. He was running around like a madman. It was inevitable that he would go down. That's on the coaches. And how is it that the defense is suddenly terrible again? These are all issues that go back to the top. Over the past decade, BYU has changed out players and assistant coaches, but the problems remain. The only common factor is the head coach at this point.
